Symptoms
The affected servers slow down or become unresponsive. High CPU usage and multiple instances of the following processes: SmcGui.exe, ccApp.exe, ProtectionUtilSurrogate.exe (64-bit only) may also be observed.

Cause
The issue was found to be caused by multiple instances of the Symantec Endpoint Protection processes depleting server resources and fixed in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 Maintenance Release 3.

Resolution
Upgrade to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 Maintenance Release 3 or newer.
